Section 01
What's New for 2027?
The 2027 Silverado 1500 isn't an update — it's a full reinvention. Edmonton truck buyers have waited years for Chevrolet to take this step, and the result delivers on every front: a pair of brand-new V8 engines, a dramatically more capable interior, and a bolder design that makes no apologies for being a truck.
Two Brand-New V8 Engines
The 5.3L V8 — a staple since 1999 — is done. In its place, Chevrolet introduces two entirely new next-generation small-blocks. The standard 5.7L V8 brings modern engineering to everyday work and towing, while the available 6.6L V8 claims the title of most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in the full-size pickup class. Both are assembled in North America at GM's Flint, Tonawanda, and St. Catharines facilities.
6.6L V8 — Class Leader
A More Commanding Look
LED headlights are now standard on every trim level, not just the upper range. Bolder fender flares, a fresh grille character, and trim-specific styling make every 2027 Silverado unmistakably its own from a distance.
Super Cruise — Now While Towing
No other truck in the segment offers hands-free highway driving while hauling a trailer. For Edmonton drivers putting in long kilometres on the QE2 or Highway 2, this is a genuine game-changer.
More Screen Than Ever
Every 2027 Silverado ships with a 16.3" centre touchscreen and 12.2" digital gauge cluster as standard equipment. Opt for ZR2 or High Country and you'll add an 11.5" front passenger display, a head-up display, and a digital rearview mirror — over 60" of screens in total.
Three Lifted Off-Road Options
Demand from buyers like you shaped this decision: the 2027 lineup now includes three lifted trims. Custom Trail Boss and Trail Boss (2" lift, 34" MT tires) cover the accessible end, while ZR2 — with 35" mud-terrains, front and rear E-lockers, and Multimatic DSSV dampers — anchors the extreme end.
A Cleaner Seven-Trim Lineup
The LT nameplate steps aside for a trim simply called "Silverado." The full 2027 roster is: Work Truck, Custom, Silverado, Custom Trail Boss, Trail Boss, High Country, and ZR2. Every 4x4 Silverado trim now includes the Z71 package as standard equipment.
Section 02
2027 Silverado 1500 Redesign
This is a genuine fifth-generation redesign — not a cosmetic freshening. Chevrolet retooled the exterior, the cab experience, and the materials used throughout, while holding onto the durability and capability that Alberta truck owners have relied on for decades.
Standard LED Lighting Across the Board
Unlike the outgoing model — where LED headlights were reserved for upper trims — every 2027 Silverado rolls off the line with a full LED lighting signature front and rear. The result is a sharper, more premium look regardless of which trim Edmonton buyers choose.
Stronger Sheet Metal, Distinct Trim Identity
Wider wheel arches, reshaped rocker panels, and a three-foot-wide centre brake light give the 2027 truck a broader, more planted stance. Each trim carries unique exterior cues, so your Work Truck and your neighbour's High Country read differently even from a block away.
Premium Materials, Depending on Trim
High Country brings real wood trim and available microfiber suede to the Silverado lineup for the first time. At the other end, ZR2 introduces forged carbon-fibre interior accents — a segment debut — setting each trim apart in ways that go beyond badge placement.
🚪 What Changed Inside the Cab
Step inside any 2027 Silverado and it's immediately clear this is a different generation of truck. A reconfigurable Multi-Flex centre console optimizes storage and workspace depending on the job, while an available panoramic sunroof — available for the first time on any Silverado — opens the High Country cab in a way no previous full-size Chevy truck has offered. Trim-specific interior themes ensure the cabin matches the personality of the truck outside it.
Section 03
Expected Trims
Seven trims, clearly defined from the ground up. Whether you need a truck that earns its keep Monday to Friday or one that handles Elk Island trails on the weekend, there's a 2027 Silverado at Lakewood Chevrolet built around your needs.

Performance & Engine Options
Four engines, a new 10-speed automatic for every one of them, and a flagship V8 that sets a new benchmark in the segment. Here's what's under the hood of the 2027 Silverado 1500.
5.7L V8 — The New Everyday Engine
After 25 years, the 5.3L bows out. The 5.7L takes the standard V8 slot and brings next-generation engineering to the kind of daily work and towing that Edmonton Silverado owners put a truck through year-round.
6.6L V8 — Class-Leading Power
Chevrolet is making a direct claim: this is the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 available in any full-size pickup. For maximum towing capacity and an authoritative power reserve on Alberta highways, this is the engine to spec.
2.7L TurboMax — Torque Without the Displacement
Best-in-class standard torque from a turbocharged four-cylinder, now matched with a 10-speed automatic for the first time. Efficient, responsive, and better paired to modern driving demands than ever before.
3.0L Duramax Diesel — The Long-Haul Choice
The only turbodiesel available in the full-size half-ton segment. Especially well-suited for buyers putting highway kilometres on their truck between Edmonton and Calgary, or heading north for work.
🔁 One Transmission Standard Across All Four Engines
For 2027, every Silverado engine — including the 2.7L TurboMax, which previously used an 8-speed — steps up to a 10-speed automatic. The result is smoother power delivery and better-matched gearing whether you're merging onto the Henday or working through a heavy load on a gravel road north of the city.
*Exact horsepower, torque, and towing ratings are pending official release from Chevrolet. Lakewood Chevrolet will update this page as soon as those numbers are confirmed.
