First, it’s important to stay at the scene until it’s safe to leave. If anyone is injured, call 911 immediately.

Then, exchange contact and insurance information with the other driver(s) involved in the accident. Make sure to get their full name, phone number, insurance company and policy number.

Next, document the scene by taking photos of the damage to both vehicles and the surrounding area, as well as any road signs or traffic signals. If there are any witnesses, make sure to get their contact information.
