We are proud to announce the arrival of the new 2011 Cruze ECO at Lakewood Chevrolet. The Cruze ECO achieves astounding fuel economy, without the usual hybrid or electric premiums. A few simple upgrades have put this Cruze ahead of it's competitors, with economy ratings of 4.6L/100k or 61mpg highway and 7.2L/100k or 39mpg in the city. These wheels, unique to the Cruze Eco, not only look fantastic, but are made of a lightweight forged alloy. The reduced weight, combined with a low rolling resistance tire, are a critical contributor to the hybrid like fuel efficiency the Cruze Eco is capable of.
The air shutter system on the Cruze Eco uses sensors to feel and sense wind and temperature conditions. The sensors are married to electric motors that open and close the shutters automatically. With the shutters closed at high speeds, wind drag is reduced. At lower speeds, the shutters open to maximize engine-cooling air flow. The air shutter system contributes nearly half a mile per gallon in combined city and highway driving.
Not only does this standard 1.4L Turbocharged engine give the Cruze Eco a little more get up and go over the standard 1.8L engine, but it is the main contributor to the balance of power and fuel economy that this car achieves so successfully.
The Tire inflator kit replaces the usual space saver spare tire. Not only does this reduce weight, but makes it much faster and easier to get you back on the road again.
